Official Dx: Hygroma
So, if y'all remember back a month or so ago, I asked if you thought Elvis might have epiphysitis on his knee. Well, the official diagnosis from the vet is hygroma, which is GOOD news since it's not a bone chip or anything serious like that. WHEW!
Doc says surgery is possible, but could result in more problems than it solves, and as long as Elvis doesn't show any symptoms of lameness, I am best advised to leave it alone....as hideous as it is. SO halter with him is definitely nothing I will ever be doing (which sucks), but I can still chase cows, run barrels, and do anything else with him.
I'm glad you got a diagnosis so you know what direction you can go with him:-)
I was clueless so I Googled "Hygroma"
This is a credible link that describes Hygroma in layman's terms. Also shows the before X-rays and the after surgery for anyone interested:-)

Excellent link! Here's a couple pics of Elvis' knee...one was taken this past summer, the other was just a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I don't have any of his radiograph pics...
