Jumping Form Critique
Does my boy have good jumping form?
yep, sure does. You sellin'?
Can I have him?! -shoves Oxer- MINE!
jk jk haha but seriously. Your horse puts my horse to shame.
Yup! Very cute!
Are you seriously asking that question? That boy's got talent. Love how he uses his neck.
No, nope, terrible. No good. You should sell him. Immediately. To me. Please? :3
He's a work of art... You can draw a perfect arc from his nose, along his crest, down though his hind legs. And that happy, perky, energetic tail and pricked ears to boot!
I mean, he stinks. No good at all. Total clutz. Give him to me, and I'll work with him to see if there's any hope at all. (catfight between BEP, Oxer, and me).
Do you by chance have a pic of him standing square? I'd love to see what makes a horse who jumps like that, particularly the shoulders and how they tie into his neck.
Thank you everyone it means so much to me! He was a rescue (informal, I got him out of a bad situation though) and hes a mutt, haha, we think hes a QH/TB/Morgan, He's my first horse and I'm so excited to show him this summer! Yes, I do have a pic of him standing square! It's interesting though, I've posted the picture in the conformation area and he got a pretty bad critique. I was told because of his steep shoulder angle he would not be able to pick his knees up over jumps (hmm, ok?) and he is also fairly downhill, which doesn't help. Although some of the downhillness I believe may be an optical illusion of his under-developed neck, making his front look less in balance than his hind end. But I digress, here is Xander, a work in progress!
I suppose if those things are true he is just of an example of how sometimes heart matters more than conformation, I don't think he could survive without jumping, he loves it!
Really? That's the same horse? I guess we'll all have to start looking at confo shots with a grain of salt. That's amazing.
