There was a gypsy mare that went through an auction this past Sunday. It was a registered auction (no kill buyer there that day) and sire and dam were both registered. She went for $525 or 575... either way someone walked off with a great deal.

They are very pretty... i can only imagine all the work to keep them clean... especially their feathers....

that was the first time there was ever a gypsy there. They had no idea what to start the bidding at.

They are gorgeous horses but the cost of them is what I think is enough to keep everyone one away. I really don't understand how they cane make the cost worth the animal. For the same price, you can get yourself a really nice under saddle horse, even a few.

The are I'm in is really not popular for those heavy breeds. Spruce Meadows keeps the level of under saddle horses high.

We met the Gypsy's at the Equine Affaire about 5 years ago and have been in love with them ever since. We had our pics taken with a famous Gypsy Vanner stallion...we had so much fun holding his lead and posing with him.
