Our first time back in 60 days
It was hard to see.
I would like to see you lower your hand that holds the reins a few inches.
Your legs look a bit behind you, keep your heels down more, it will put your lower legs in a better position. and lastly get rid of the saddle bags, he/she is not happy in the canter, that might be adding to the problem.
Looks like you both have a good start, sure is a cute horse.
Western is not really my thing but those few things I noticed.
Looking good though.
Verry nice for being on stall rest for two months! I personally like a head set a little lower and with the chin tucked in so the horses face is at a 90 degree angle to the ground. I allso noticed that her steps a rather short and chopy. Trot poles at about 6 of your feet heel to toe should help her lengthen her stride:)

thanks guys ;) we were set for a long trail ride son, so i wanted her to get used to the bags a bit, shes never carried one over her hips before, just at the horn.
Ill definitely try the poles MM, and im not sure she was used to the new trail boots yet either :)
i hate my seat in a western saddle, since i grew up completely hunter/jumper. i like the longer stirrups, but i feel like im lacking something in the position....ill for sure work on the heels taffy, thank you :)
I think you need to lengthen your stirrups a hole or two. You have too much angle in the bend of your knee for a western saddle. That's why you are having trouble with your heels. Also, it looks to me like most of the time your feet are too far forward, not back. And I can tell you are more of a hunter/jumper rider by your posture. Sit back a bit more, lower your hands and just relax. There are no jumps in western. lol
i have my stirrups longer than my english saddle, but shorter than they shuold be, because i ahve a harder time with heels down the further down they go. :/
your probably right :) ill definitely try it out ;) thanks!
