Breyer Fest

So lately I have been saving for Breyer fest. But it has been hard because of my new horse and I have to help pay for the bored and buy a saddle. I have somewhere around 52 traditional models and I was wandering if you knew how I could save money.
Also I was wandering what it is like at Breyer Fest. If you could tell me what i should do there and if you could tell me about the swap meet. Do you guys know about the youtube meet.:D

I went when in 2002 when I was 13. My mom and I spent over $2,000 on Breyers, I got four of the special runs, two of the celebration mold and bought 11 more at the swap meet in the Holiday Inn. It was crazy, there were women there that were CUT THROAT and would shove you out of line for a specific model. People would purchase the special runs for $45-$60 and turn around and sell them for upwards of $100 THAT NIGHT at the hotel. It was a blast, though. The Kentucky Horse Park is beautiful, and I got to meet and pet Cigar. His presence was amazing.

At that age I saved every penny I had, I would do odd jobs for neighbors and work at my mom's sign company. I would clean stalls for friends and family for $5 a stall.

I have to agree that some people get extremely rude for plastic horses. While standing in line the first morning, a woman was verbally threatening us to stay away from the lines until she got her horses. BUT, there are also some very nice people there and I met so many great people who also shared the same hobby.

If you can, go to the Hotel sale on whatever night it is. Great way to get good models. Everyone rents a room in the hotel and sets their room up like a Model horse flea market. It's just like one big horse garage sale.

I had no interest in going, but this last year, my breed association needed a volunteer to man the booth, so I did it. It was a BLAST. I don't care much for the Breyers, but the exhibitions were fantastic. It was really fun.

I'd love to go just once. But they are always so far away from me, I forget about it, have no money to go, have something that needs to get done, etc...

You know... the usual stuff. ;)
