What to do in a situation like this?

So there is a girl who is local to me who does rescues and more often then not gets dogs or pups from 'death row' in NYC who only have 72 hours to live upon arrival.

Well, I adopted a Pitbull she had gotten from there. He's only about 45 pounds so he's small in terms of actual sized pits. We assume he was a bait dog. He's extremely sweet and loving and the nines. I got him back in November, I believe.

Well, he absolutely hates my two dogs but loves my one shepherd. I cannot let them all run together in the house because he has attacked the other two before for no reason. And it's not Everytime. The last time he attacked my Great Dane my Great Dane was going to walk in another room and the pit flipped out. It's scary to say the least and I'm by far NEVER afraid of any dog. He's food aggressive which isn't too much of an issue because they all eat seperate. But, if he sees the other two dogs (that he doesn't like) eating, he will growl, bark and sound like the nastiest SOB ever. I cannot bring him to the dog park because I'm scared he'll kill another dog or bite a strange human. He knows to go to the bathroom outside and no amount of trying has stopped him from pooping or peeing in his cage. He never has accidents in the house but atleast once a day (usually more) I'm cleaning up poop or pee in his cage.

I feel terrible. I know I should probably send him back but it's very hard. I'm attached but everyday I have to corral him off into my dining room with my shepherd because he attacks the other two. It's not fair to him but I just feel like I'm giving up on him. The lady we adopted him from said we can work with a trainer on him attacking my other dogs but with me and my fiancÚ working full time jobs plus the horses I may only be able to take one lesson a week and I'm not sure if that will even fix it.

*sigh* thanks for letting me vent guys...I'm just so upset. :/

The way I would look at it is (as you've already said): it's not fair to him, and while it sounds awful you want to keep him for 'selfish' reasons. Yes you can spend time with a trainer, but if it doesn't work? It sounds like this boy needs to go to a one-dog home, somewhere he can relax and not have to 'compete' for time in the house, affection, etc.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your attachments for the sake of the dogs and their safety/well being.

I would watch the dog whisperer if i were you its a great show and i learned a lot. I had 2 aggressive pits that would try to kill eachother but when i started walking them as a pack like on cesars show they started getting along wonderfully. Sorry it didnt work out.

We still hve him. I haven't heard from the lady we got him from. Although I know she's been going through alot lately. He's been better hasn't had many accidents but still haven't let him out with the others.

Ya if i could help i would, i love cesar and im working on getting a dog training license. I walk my dogs everyday as a pack and just added 2 new aggressive dogs and had no incidents yet. Also i had a dog that pooped in her kennel so i just took her outside more often. Also an anxious dog has a lot more trouble holding it in and he sounds very 'insecure'
