Lizzy's weight update

So it has been awhile and we have had our ups and downs with her weight since fall. But I think we are finally doing good. So these are motion pictures but I think you can get a pretty good idea of what she looks like now.

I know she needs some serious muscle on her top line but with winter and no indoor it has been extrememly hard to work her consistently. So keep that in mind that there is no muscle there really. Also her belly isn't pointy, her front half is clipped  so the abrupt fur starting makes it look pointy lol.

I figure we have some good muscle to build come spring and perhaps a few more pounds? Let me know what you think.

Looking good. ;-)

Thank you :) anyone have any thoughts on if she needs more weight or if its just muscle now? I think it's mostly muscle and once the ice is gone we can work on that. It's also been -20 the last couple weeks. If it did warm up it was too icy.

She looks real good weight wise. Needs some muscle now and she will really look great. Yeah no riding this winter to icey and to cold we had 34 below zero yesterday morning 18 below this AM. My own horses arent holding weight very good even with 24/7 hay to eat.Mine are all a bit ribby right now.We have had alot of wind with the bitter cold also.

Thank you, I'm so happy we were able to get her weight up even with this cold. She has been stalled for the last month and a half. And gets a max of 6 hours of turnout a day which she is completely ok with. She actually only cares to be out to stretch her legs then wants back in. And with this super cold that's been sticking around some weeks she would only get out for 2 days during the week. So it has been easier to get hay in her. Her stall is never out of hay and she has been eating about 30-40lbs of hay per day. She loves to just stand in her stall and shove all the green fluffy hay in her face lol.

I'm thinking next winter I will have to get boots so I can stud them for this icky footing.

It was -12 yesterday morning and the windchill made it to -30. It hurt me to breathe lol. Today we are getting up to 9!!! So we finally get to ride.
