APHA Mare pattern?
I would really like to find out what pattern my paint mare is.
She is registered as tobiano but looking at the APHA website her pattern doesn't quite match the tobiano pattern.
What do you guys think?
Tobiano. Sabino. Probably Frame.
Tobiano does not put white on the face. So yes, there is SOME other pattern that has made her blaze.
If ever considering breeding her, test for Frame, or stay away from Frame carrier stud prospects. OLWS isnt something you wanna deal with.

Thank you very much. Reading some of the other threads on here, got me thinking that she might be frame.
Her sire is listed as tovero paint and dam as solid paint.
Definitely tobiano and sabino. The tobiano is also causing the patches of roany-ness on her neck and what looks like her flank area. I would definitely test for frame, like mentioned, if you have any intention of breeding her. Posssibly splash with the way her blaze widens at the bottom, but I would kind of want to see her parents first.
I'm assuming the sabiano gene also causes the watermarks (not sure if that what it's called) roaning around the spots?
Also, what causes the ink spots?
Thanks again...I really appreciate all the replies. Still leaning about all this:?
The roaning in her spots and the mapping (roaning around the outside edges) are both very, very typical of tobianos.
