Hi, I had my horse to the vet because when he runs he has a head nod. The vet agreed that the horse is sore and tried nerve blocking to locate the lameness tried the foot and not much improvement, tried the ankle slight improvement then she blocked a nerve just above the ankle and said he cant feel anything from that point to bottom of hoof and he came sound. after that she took alot of xrays of the foot and ankle and couldn't see anything. she tried hoof testers and never flinched. at that point she said to give the horse stall rest and bring him back slowly. anyone have any ideas of things she may have missed? things I could try?

Be interesting to see the xrays. She could have missed something there or they're not clear enough or some such. Who knows what else she may have missed - who knows what her specific knowledge & skill level regarding hooves & xrays are too. But hopefully it hasn't progressed past soft tissue injury, in which case there would be no changes evident on the rads & an ultrasound would be an appropriate diagnostic.
