German Dressage rider going bridleless
Hi there, just got an email from a friend with the following video. This is Isabell Werth, one of Germanys most successful dressage riders ever with her 19 year old horse, she goes now saddle and bridleless too :0) Thought I would share this....
Links not working:(
I edited it, should work now....
She doesn't go bitless and bridle less except on this particular horse for a fun ride, so I doubt we're going to see big changes in International Dressage competitions to 'no tack' classes.
Amazing rider and extremely talented horse. I wish I could ride 1/10th as well as she does!
It's Isabell Werth and that's her retired GP mount Satchmo :) He is 19. She has been around forever, I still remember her on Gigolo and it was always her and Anky with Bonfire competing for top spot at the big CDIs. And now I think Satchmo is 19? I remember his first GPs.... And then I feel like I've done nothing with my riding haha.
DUFFY - if you see this, send it to your coach and then maybe she will not shake her head next time you decide to get on your horse bareback hahahaha.
I'm wondering how the heck she stays on in that passage, the horse is practically shooting for the moon.
I was actually lucky enough to get a couple of lessons from her when I was younger and back in Germany. She is amazing and so are her horses!
Its funny seeing Satchmo in his his 'daggies' with his hunter clip and just mucking around in a halter. We're so used to seeing the 'old' Satchmo, all stunning and done up for international competition.
It is great to see that the old boy's still got it. And I love Isabel for the fact that she gives us fellow short people hope :P
Ahahahah I don't think it was so much the fact I got on bareback.. but I got on my 3,5yo bareback without working him first ;D
He's four next month- sob- so growed up!!
This made my day. It's an inspiration to me!
Interesting that it was put up within hours of: Isabell Werth's El Santo NRW Tests Positive to FN Prohibited Medication | eurodressage
