When is this gonna END??? *Update* Baby is here!
So my little bambino was due on Saturday the 2nd... He has yet to make his appearance! I am MISERABLE. I know this is kind of a poor me thread, but dang I need to whine!
I am (starting to turn to was) against being induced, so we are waiting til next friday to induce ( one day shy of 42 weeks) if he hasn't shown up by then.. The other day I was in L&D for amniosure test and NST and ultrasound because A.) I thought my water has possibly broke, B.) he just wasnt moving like normal- EVERYTHING was fine (hence why we are waiting til next fri)..but My doc offered to induce me that night- I declined....NOW I am kinda wondering what the heck I was thinking turning it down.. Baby could have been here and I wouldnt have to still be worrying about "oh is this pain (IN WHICH THERE ARE many) the start of labor?"
UGH I AM JUST OVER IT!
Been there, done that, I sympathize with you!

I remember the topsy turvy clown feeling quite well, not fondly I may add. I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but walking, walking, walking
Walking and Chinese food did it for me. ;)

LOL I have heard that alot! And I have been walking..Hell I still do most of the horse chores ( that includes stall mucking!) as my husband isn't usually home at feeding times (our barn is down a nice little hill might I add), and I am still up and doing house chores and laundry.. Just doesntseemto be doing much good X@
I mowed the lawn....
I SO feel for you. It's been almost 17 years since my last boy, but I will never forget.
Both of my babies were way late, and both induced. inducing, is best to avoid. your labor will go better and likely be shorter if you can wait until you are "ripe".
Here's a funny story to amuse you while you wait.
So, I was hugely pregnant and baby was due in one week. I go to my usual water aerobics class. everyone asks, "aren't you about due?". "Yep. next week!"
next week comes, I am in the water aereobics class. "aren't you due?"
"yep! today is my due date!"
Next week; "what about the baby? aren't you due?"
"yep. last week "
(thinking, 'this could get tiresome')
So, the last few days, I could not sleep horizontal, only semi-sitting up on the couch with tons of pillows and every time I changed positions, I had to reposition all the pillows. you can't cal that sleep.
all night long, Braxton-Hicks contractions. Hubby was sleeping on the floor next to me , ready to drive me to the hospital. I kept waking him saying, "I think it's almost time. " But the contractions just hung out at 10 minutes apart. Soon as the sun came up, they utterly stopped. Like clockwork. and I went on about my day , with my 5 year old and my painfully huge belly.
Eventually, I did opt for induction. When I was TWO weeks past due date.
End then, only because I had so little sleep that I was just exhasuted and worried I would not be able to do the labor from such a tired place to begin with.
But, induction means that you go pretty quickly into the hard contractions, so you don't have time to get used to what they feel like and work slowly up to the pain levels. So, harder to take it in stride.
So, if medically you can manage the wait, it's always best.
I wish you a good night sleep. I used Benedryl, and it helped get me some Z's.
Thanks tiny.. I have done my research on induction, and I KNOW it is best to avoid...BUT I am totally starting to understand why so many women opt for it even if it is medically unnesessary! She (doc) also offered me a cytotech pill, to maybe get things moving (bad chit that stuff is!) and I *almost* contemplated taking her up on it.. I am lucky I have a good doc who respects my wishes..she offers me things but wont push them until there is no other choice...which is nice because I am at that easily pushed phase I think:/
Up until these last few weeks my pregnancy has been pretty easy... And I sleep pretty good yet with the help of tylenol pm-( been taking it for a while now), and tons of pillows.. Its just the pangs and twinges and contractions and pressure in weird places I didnt know I had.. I am pretty good at handling pain and being uncomfortable if there is a reason for it... BUt all of this uncomfortable seems (at this point- it will be worth it in the end) to not be doing a **** THING!
OH and something they do not tell you about pregnancy- In the last bit of it, baby can reach your sternum when they stretch- sooooo pleasant!
Peppersgirl..... you have all my sympathies.
I was pregnant with triplets....and OH MY GOSH!!!! I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. I felt like a shakened up pop bottle with no outlet to relieve the pressure.
I had my girls at 32 wks and 2 days....it was not induced either. The funny thing was .....I hurt just as much after I had them. Not from the incision from the c section but just from the hollowness in my tummy.
Oh yeah....no bones stretch. The daughter that was sitting on the right side of my tummy would bug the one that was sitting on my left side. So...the one that was being bugged would get under my rib cage to hide from her 'buggy sister'. All I can say is....at least there was no screaming, crying and howling that comes with buggin' and fightin' that they do nowadays.
But yeah....those bone stretching moves were not pleasant whatsoever.
I'll never forget going in to the hospital a week after my due date. I was like a beached whale and miserable! Went in, and was told I could go away for the weekend if I wanted as nothing would happen til the Monday when they induced me. Walked a mile to the car in the carpark, got a chinese takeaway on the way home (a curry), ate the curry and had a hot bath. Next mornin I was on my way into the hospital.
Knowing my daughter, I honestly believe the factor that really changed things was the fact they said she wouldnt come. That was her starting early on not listening to what we tell her!
I'm crossing my fingers that it's all over soon and you have your little person to cuddle in the next few days.. infact I'm hoping you cant reply to this as your in labour at this very moment ha!
