I swear I could be a hoarder given enough time and money.
Right, lets face facts, I am getting older, and I am no great shakes as a rider, I still have time to improve, we can all get better, but I am never going to scare the worlds best, and that's OK. All I want to do is have some fun, go to some local shows, have a chance of a ribbon or two, but FUN and ENJOY need to be important words.
Lets face another fact, I'm BIG, and struggling to lose it, I've done it before, but this time I am really really having a hard time.
My current horses I love, all for different reasons, but I'm starting to realize that just maybe I still don't have the right ones.
I have Big Ben, look at him, bless him.
Nearly 17hh of horse there, trouble is he is 10, only broke last year, and I haven't ridden him much, still want to though. If I can get the little B loading reliably so I can get to lessons. Not only do I like Ben, and there are no weight concerns, I REALLY want to see what we have here, I figure he stays.
Willow, Huge sigh, I never should have taken her on, always wondered if she would carry me, and although I think she will, I guess it isn't now, and do I need another one for the future. Trouble is I really really like her, for all of her quirks, she is just a really nice mare.
LOL, I just realized how badly she photographs, I keep coming back to the same one..
And here am I riding her, puts on foil helmet and awaits the sh1t storm to hit.
Then there is Emmy, beautiful Emmy, daughter of my own Ace, has her mothers nature in some ways, not in others, a really really sweet mare, but not comfortable with my weight, but she is carrying her own weight issue, so she may do better if she diets as well as me! This one I could keep and look at, even if she is being wasted, but at the same time, she is probably most unsuitable in some ways. She is a very nicely bred mare though.....
Now Cody, only just joined us, and already love him, very quiet, just what I was looking for, but once again in my own head just to damn small.
Who can resist this face
Puts on another tin hat, under saddle
Then we come to the real non negotiable ones.
Ace and Angel, they both stay, just because.
Hubby is making 'hoarder' sounds again, and I don't blame him, although Cody was never meant to be here as an extra, he is a for now, or someone has to go horse.
AGGHHHHH
Sometimes I think I should sell everything and just use all that cash to buy one broke, decent horse.
Part of me says that Ben should stay, and Cody, Wills and Emmy should go, and I should get one solid reliable body to replace them.
Give me your thoughts and opinions here people, but try and be nice if possible, looking for help to decide the best thing, not a butt kicking for anything!
