Lounging, two for one!
I went to visit a friend of mine who just started a horse rescue. I took the girl who helps me out here and while she was working with one of the other horses, Gemma, the bay, insisted the she knew how to lounge too! Gemma followed around, turned, stopped and did everything the Sparanza was doing, it was too cute... & funny!
That is really awesome! I have never seen a horse do that before....seen a lot of things (not all good! LOL) but never 2 for 1 lounging! Love it!
Something like that happened to me once.
At my barn, we had a really old TB, and we would let him out to graze and explore.
I took his herd mate out one day to ride her. When I got on and went into the ring Booker, the old guy, followed me in. He trotted and canter around with me for a few minutes, then wandered on out.
Such a sweetie.
I never thought horses would do something like that
That's exactly how my little pony Duncan learned how to lounge. He would run after his pasture mate and do everything she did. It was pretty awesome.
My QH would do that.
I could throw her and my gelding in a round pen lunge him and she would happily follow him, doing what I asked of him. My gelding was difficult to catch so I was lunging him every time I couldn't catch him.... she figured that out and when I would show up, she would get her pissy mare face on and chase him over to me. Hey dimwit, go be caught... otherwise that lady is going to make us BOTH work!!
