I love love love diamond braids, so I was wondering if they can be used for Western as well as English. They take a long time and for shows where there's W and E I don't have time to braid between classes!!

I don't know the answer to your question but I have to say I love that diamond braid. That horse rocks with those braids. :-P

I've never seen it in the upper levels. But I honestly don't like it. I think they look sloppy.

I don't think it's really show ring appropriate. It's more of a fun braid and not really proper. I've seen them gyms among events and playdays but never in the show ring. You could do a running braid close along the neck for English and take it out for western. Or if your classes go western - English, practice until it takes 5 minutes. Running braids are really simple.

One idea- cut (I don't like doing it either), and band. I know the banding part is more western. But if you didn't have time it still would look presentable. If you had time between classes you could cut the bands out quick. I also have seen people band long manes and it looks nice.
