Scout's first ride at home! It's so wonderful knowing I can come out and ride MY horse at any time!!! I got on him today. Scout has never been in a real arena before(oh no, big scary colorful things!) He was mostly a trail horse and sometimes was ridden in a muddy field. I walked him around the arena yesterday on a lead to let him sniff things out and see what the whole thing was about. He did GREAT today! No spooking at the colors or anything. What a good man. All we did was about 30 minutes of walking and mayyyybee 2 of trotting. Basically I want him to get used to the idea we'll be riding in this giant sandy thing. Still working on the mounting block thing! Enough rambling, heres the pictures! Sorry, no action shots. http://i46.tinypic.com/a2sqw8.jpg LOVE the face here!! http://i45.tinypic.com/2ufv8f5.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/iz0ox4.jpg Ohh nooo, poor fat boy had to do work! |
What is that god awful thing on his back?!?!?!?! Oh goodness how dare you switch to the dark side!!:shock: Seriously I will GIVE you the saddle i'm selling if you will get rid of that thing  |
^^^^^^^^ shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they'll hear you and start a war!!!!! |
Looks like you guys had a fun and successful day!! I just love the markings around his eyes, btw :) |

NB is mocking me because I'm using the BO's western saddle :b I haven't gone tack shopping yet, hopefully tomorrow afternoon! |
Ohhhh! Gotcha! NB would keel over if she saw how I sometimes ride around my wilderness property with an english saddle, nylon halter/rope reins, or rope halter/rope reins, or bareback/western bridle... haha It's true! Although I do own all of the appropriate english/western tack, I love a more 'natural' riding style, and I can tell my horses do too! Besides, it's so remote here, there's no one to care how I ride except the wildlife :) *You know I'm teasing you, NB - I think your style of riding is nice and I'll bet you're wonderful at it! |

The kids at the barn laugh because the only time I "clean up" is for a clinic or show. My mares mane is half way down her neck  |
