Types of Leather
I am looking at a new western pleasure show saddle made from American Westan leather. I've never heard of this leather and can't find anything online about it. Saddle maker states it's one of the best in America. This saddle is in the $4000 range.
Anybody know anything about WESTAN leather?
I searched the internet and also contacted a couple people I know who make saddles. None have heard of it. That is odd.
Perhaps if you provide us with the name of the saddler we can come up with opinions (we're very good at that!).
Geoff Hudson Saddlery in Australia
I think its a city or place. It says, The finest leathers from WESTAN USA. And its HuTson, not HuDson. That's my maiden name, lol.
Edit: I went to the home page and I really have no clue!!!!
Thanks, hopefully I'll hear back from email I sent to the saddlery. I'm unfamiliar with any American leather other than Herman Oaks which is used a lot here in Oz.
