Western clothes This summer I'm going to be in some shows, more than schooling shows but nothing too fancy. I only show hunt seat right now and I wear breeches, tall boots, a belt, and a polo. My horse also rides western, and I kind of want to show him in some western classes too, but all I have western is a bridle; I have a western saddle but it's really not fancy enough so I may eventually want to get another, but for now I need clothes for me. I could wear my moms western boots, got jeans, but I don't have a shirt or hat. Any ideas on a simple, yet nice, western shirt? As western is not my main thing and will never be, I don't want to get a bunch of stuff, or really expensive stuff either. Posted via Mobile Device |
Jeans usually aren't acceptable at most shows. Nice black pants will look more polished. Check ebay for nice shirts at reasonable prices. You can wear a helmet in lieu of a Western hat. Posted via Mobile Device |
Check the clearance section of online tack stores, eBay, maybe even Craigslist. I personally love schneiders, I got my show shirt (I show schooling and open) for about $80 from them. :-) Posted via Mobile Device |
Black pants with a button up, long sleeved shirt would work for schooling. It would help if you got a color that matched your saddle pad. :) |

You can get a button down shirt (plain) like this one: Worthington® Long-Sleeve Button-Down Shirt - jcpenney and then add a scarf. If you can get yourself a pair of chaps, that would be preferable. Tractor supply has the George straight Justin straw hates for about $30. |
I have a pink hobby horse shirt I could mail you if you want it. I'm too fat for it. |
