Nappy rash tips anyone?

Anybody have any tips for nappy rash? My poor 20mo in the 24 hours has got a serious case of it... to the degree that he is walkin bow legged

I know to let it air out, and I'm changing him and applyin sudacrem constantly but does anybody have a secret, never fails to work trick??

I let them sit in a baking soda bath and then rub them down in malox oddly enough.

Do you use a certain type of disposable nappie/diaper as they might have changed something in the product that he's allergic too.
It could also be something new in his diet that more acidic
I'm so rusty now at baby stuff but can you still get nappy liners that stops the pee from coming back onto the skin?
Lots of water to drink will dilute his pee if it is acidic for some reason
Doctors will sometimes prescribe betnovite (spelling??) in a dilute form - this did work for one of my boys when nothing else did.

Thanks guys, I was speaking with a woman who used to mind the kids and she told me to use egg whites!

Used it last night and it's half cleared up - still sore but a huge improvement compared to yesterday... wonder what it would be like this eve if Daddy hadn't been minding him lol! Stuck the egg white on again this eve, so fingers crossed it will be cleared up soon.

I think it's due to his teeth - he's droolin like a St Bernard looking at a whole turkey at the moment and has resorted to chewing on his top if no doody is around.
