Bald Arabs? In the show circuit they tend to have a longer bridle path cut (like a foot long) depending on the circuit and what they're doing. Maneless though, I've not seen. I believe the style of shave is to show off their neck but I will let one of the Arab show circuit experts weigh in so I don't say anything wrong.

Not enough information. Does she mean bald faced markings, or their faces shaved?
If their manes have been shaven off completely that's called roaching, not 'bald'.

Hmmmm, reminds of an article I read eons ago in a horse magazine, we talking 1970's here. An Arab groom was describing how they prepped a horse before a big show. They said they surgically clipped the horse down to bald, then rubbed some sort of human hair treatment all over the horse and blanketed them. This was done well in advance of the show to allow the hair to grow back to a length they thought was the sleekest, forgot how long that was, sorry, many years ago I read that. Then a week before the show, they would hot oil treatment that sleek new coat. So maybe that's what bald Arabs mean?

Naw wares, that's just considered clipping. Easier than trying to blanket the horse constantly before a show; just body clip 'em down to the skin, and let the hair grow for a week or two.

LOL, maybe before the horse grows back the hair after the surgical clip?

I'd think that would be considered nekkid, not bald.

I wonder if you mean "roaching." I always thought clipping the mane back, like a buzz cut, or "roaching" was common for Appies and some QH's, but I've never seen it done on Arabians. I have seen a very long bridle path cut for show Arabs.

bald probably means when the hair on the face is shaved off completely around the eye and nose and clipped very short on the face.
