How do my horses SMB's look?
 

Hello! I got taught along time ago how to put on my horses SMB's but to have someone else just make sure I haven't picked up any bad habits with how I put them on. Here we go! I hope I got enough photos for you guys!!

For this one, I saw the bunching under the second strap and fixed it before I got on.

I will post the front boots later. I some how lost them, I dont know how, I use them everyday, any way I just ordered a new pair since the old ones were well, really old. So they should be here tommrow so I will get you photos of those too. Also, do you think I should replace the back boots anytime soon? I'm not to sure how often to replace them, if it helps I barrel race, I have seen some really old, used and worn out boots and always wondered if there protection lasted after many years. Thanks!! :)

They look to small in my opinion. Like your horses leg is to wide for them.

You might have to find a different brand. I have the same problem with my horse. His legs are really to thick for the mediums but the larges are to tall for his short cannon bones. I just decided to go to polo wraps, they take longer. But there cheaper and I know how to wrap them.

I've tried 3 boots, these by far fit the best. He has a lot of polos from when he did dressage, I loved the fun colors, but just took to long to put on. Plus he does knock his back legs and the polos didn't offer enough protection for him. Made his legs get hot and would swell. He is the most high maintenance horse in the world! Lol.

They look too far down. What I do when I put mine on is put them on a little higher than where you want them and put them on loosely. Then I gently push them down almost into place and tighten them, leaving them just a tad(maybe 1/4-1/2") high, because they DO travel downwards if the fit is not absolutely perfect. This helps keep them in place and not go too low.

Love the lime green! They look like they fit well. They wrap completly around the leg without looking too tight. Any bigger and they look like they would flop down. They don't even look that old, mine looked like that after one day of riding in the mud.
