navy breeches for jumpers
So I got a pair of those "jean breeches" for christmas, but they basically just look like navy breeches with back pockets. Anyways, I'm contemplating wearing them for a horse show coming up. I would only wear them on thursday for a few lower level jumper classes. Yes or no?

Aw, gee--sorry, over dress for any class in a show. The judge will have more respect for you. But...only if you want to win the class.

As jumpers are timed classes, you don't need to be worried about pleasing a judge (unless you're doing an equitation class...) it sounds fine for Thursday classes, usually people break out the 'fancy wear' for the Sunday if it's a long show, if it's just a Thursday show it sounds like a schooling show and you should be fine.

Sounds fine to me for the jumper ring... would be a big "no no" to wear in the Hunters.

Unless its a schooling show, NO.
Stick to tan, fawn or white for any rated show even C levels. It would be horrible to jump clear and then be DQ b/c an old school judge inforced a formal attire rule.

IMO, no. I saw a few riders in dark breeches at Spruce this past weekend and they visibly stuck out as being the odd ones out. Even the warmup ring announcer was reminding riders to dress for success.
