We have the horses at HOME!!!
OMG OMG OMG! lol I am SO HAPPY! We got the horses in yesterday afternoon. They are pigging out on late summer grass right now, snorting in the dark (DH mowed most of the pasture, so they wouldn't eat themselves to founder).

This is a new house for us, you can read more about it on HGS:

DH and I got the electric fence up last weekend (I actually did most of it!). We used electro-braid on the top rail, to protect the wood fence. It was pricey, but it's looks really nice and was SO easy to install. I really could have done the whole thing myself without any problem. We also had a metal carport brought in for a horse shelter. We got a fancy trim package to protect the horses from sharp edges, and polish it off a bit. It was 1/3rd the price of the wood structures we had priced out for the same thing (roof only!), so we just could not justify going with wood when there's so much more we have to do/buy for the house...

Without further adoo, here's the photos! It was funny, hardly any fussing, they both went straight to eating! LOL!!!
This shows our driveway on the right, horses down by the "barn".
Bridgette got a little ribby in the last month or two, but the shadows make it look worse, plus she's a bit stretched out.
The new "barn".
Cute grazing photo.
Just cause Mark is so CUTE! lol
I couldn't resist, LOL!

Mark, the Bay, is an Anglo Arabian gelding. Bridgette, the chestnut, is an Appaloosa mare (though mostly QH by breeding).
The two boys next door were VERY interested in Bridgette, lol. The top of that fence is level with the "hill" they're standing on. Mr Roany Pony thought about jumping it, lol. There's a ditch on both sides though, so he reconsidered. These people are RIGHT next door, on the other side of the driveway in the first picture. That's a Pentacostal church behind them. It's a really cute little community church.
One more of the "boys". I really like the roan. I love those roman noses, lol. I need to meet the neighbors, but they're house is WAY set back and they're never out on foot... The horses are just pasture ornaments.

Anyway, sorry for posting tons of photos, I just couldn't help it! I am so happy... This is the FIRST TIME I have had my horses on the same property as my house. My DH was in tears too. It was really neat waking up to them! They were both at the gate and very happy to see me, especially with the buckets I was carrying, lol.

It's not much property (1.12 acres total), but just enough for the horses, maybe even a third for Kayla if I can ever convince dad, lol.

Thanks everyone! This is definitely a dream come true... The closest I'd ever had them before was 2 miles down the road at my parent's place. The rest of the time I've boarded anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes from the house, and not all boarding farms are created equal... The last place was one of the best, and my mare still ended up getting thinner than I'd like, and her paddock was a muddy mess for the most of the last year (hers was at the end, where all the others drained in to it...). Oh well, that's all behind us now! :D I can't wait until they settle in and we get riding! 8)

Thanks! It really depends on what angle I photograph him at. In person, he's just lovely, but he's not all that photogenic, lol. I've gotten quite a few photos of him doing a Mule impression, LMAO!!

Congratulations!! I, too, am lucky enough to keep my two horses on the property I live on---I love hearing them whinny when they hear my voice at night---or any other time of day!!
