how to get into jumping I am 12 years old and love horses, and I really want to learn how to jump and tips or suggestions. |
Do NOT try ANYTHING without an experienced trainer. |
i agree, the first thing you need to do is find a trainer ! do you have friends that ride at a barn ? do you currently ride ? |

Get an instructor and get lessons. There are so many dangerous things that can happen to you and your horse if you try learning to jump on your own. When I was a kid my parents couldn't always afford lessons for me so I had to come up with ways to pay for my own. I cleaned tack, mucked stalls and traded all sorts of work in order to pay for my lessons. As much as I loved jumping I would never jump on my own until I knew enough not to ruin my horse or hurt either of us. |
You sound like you're pretty new to riding. Jumping isn't an easy sport, you're going to want to be riding regularly for awhile before you do get into it, but don't be discouraged, riding in itself is fun. So find a good, experienced instructor who will take you along at a good, safe pace. |
Too late to edit, just now realize OP was banned. But in case she ends up coming back and seeing this thread, I guess it's still useful info. |
How can you tell the OP was banned? |
where her pic would be, like where it says 'started' or 'yearling' it says 'banned' under her username ! |
Duh, I never noticed that. I'm in hour 14 of a 16 hour shift. Brain not working good... |
