When is the best time to give Dewormer to your horse?

When they have worms...

Well yes I know to do it every three months. But is it better to do it before or after a ride or exersize? My horse gets ridden every tuesday and Friday. So should i do it today?

After the rides. You are not suppost to ride the horse 24 hours after the dewormer was given...

So I can give it to her today and then ride her on Tuesday?

Why is that?

As far as I know it doesn't matter. We use to give a dewormer every time the farrier came. That way it was easier to remember when to do it. Now that our horses are on our property and not boarded, we do it every other farrier visit even though they probably don't even have worms.

Doesn't matter when you give it. Just make sure they get it all. I have given before a ride and after a ride. Vet says it doesn't matter.

It is what my vet said, but honestly I never questioned it...

Dewormer is poison, after all. I don't ride mine for 24 hours after they get dewormer, just in case they're feeling a little punk from the poison.

I have not heard of the 24 hr. layoff, but have always done that. Make sure I will be around and give them a day or two. I do the same with vaccinations. And I never do deworming and vaccinations at the same time.
