Oh my, this cat is strange.
Let me start out by saying that Delilah has been odd from day one, when we first found her alongside the road. She has absolutely NO fear, hangs out with the dogs, and would rather eat mice than cat food. Every night after she watches me feed the horses from the rafters, she climbs partway down the hay elevator and waits for me to come close enough that she can launch herself onto my shoulders. She stays on my shoulders while I feed and water the chickens, make beet pulp in the garage, and throw hay out of the horse trailer. Heck, the other day she stayed on my shoulders while I stripped stalls, refusing to get off even when I jumped in the shavings trailer and shoveled bedding into the wheelbarrow.
Well, today I tacked Molly up for a stirrupless hack (gave up stirrups for Lent) and brought her outside to the mounting block to tighten her girth. While I was zipping my half chaps up, Delilah decided to climb on the block and launch herself onto Molly's back--BAD idea. Molly jumped out of her skin and shook visibly with wide-eyed terror until I could coax the darn cat off of her neck.
Does anyone else have a strange cat? I can't be the only one!
Our cat loves all sizes and shapes of dogs, and he's learning to walk on a leash. When we found him as a 6-week-old kitten outside a bar, he had my big 60ls dog who has a high prey drive cowed within minutes.
