That's ludicrous. Hunters for the Hungry is considered a very valuable asset here in VA. They provide other game as well as deer. Louisiana sounds extremely backwards in that respect. There's not a darned thing wrong with eating deer meat, especially since it's not costing the state government a dime. |
Ughhhhh, stuff like this just ticks me off to no end..... Posted via Mobile Device |
I am very surprised that *Louisiana* would do this. Might as well not have gumbo and crawdad feeds.... Danielle |
. Our Brilliant Government Officials at work again...... ughhhhhhh . |
What is the logic behind this ruling? That is flipping nuts. Lets waste good food while people starve. |
I bet it comes down to a stupid interpretation of a law that was intended to keep poachers from selling wild game to restraunts. |
That's crazy. We also have a program here like SR mentioned. DH got extra tags last year just for that. They have to go to a processor to be donated. We do our own so I don't mind paying to get a couple processed for the food bank. Our food pantry used to have some crazy rules, they wouldn't take any fresh veg/fruit from individuals for the longest time, they finally figured out that it was pretty stupid policy especially in a farming community. Because of where I work, I've learned that the US news tends to leave certain facts out sometimes just so that they can cause an uproar. I don't have time to do a ton of surfing but I have a feeling it has something to do with the outbreak of hemorrrhagic disease in white tails in that state: Hemorrhagic Disease Outbreak in Louisiana White-tailed Deer - OutdoorHub.com |
