Tips on taming his wild mane?
So my horses mane has a mind of it's onw. I have not pulled it in a while so it is about 5-6 inches long and even tho it is longish it will not lay down! I have tried braiding it and it will lay down for a couple days then it will go back up. His mane is kinda thin but not to bad.Half of it goes to the left and the other half to the right. He always looks like he has a mohawk!lol. I would really appreciate any help!
I don't know if something like a mane-tamer would be feasible for you.
I'm not sure that they even work in this situation, but it might be worth a try.
I'm likely going to have the same problem with my yearling filly. Her mane stands up and is all poofy and hangs on both sides of her neck. I'm going to try braiding it and leaving it for a few weeks (re-doing the braids every few days) and hope that will work.
My mare's mane never grows much and stands up a bit. I just learn to appreciate the natural "roached" beauty of it. :) But, her forlock has never grown since she was a filly, and is short and frizzy and will stand up giving a "mad scientist" look. I put human styling jel on it. Works great! It adds weight - which I am guessing would greatly assist in making the mane lay to the desired side (weighting it some how).
