found a great way to take dried mud off winter coats easily!
 

so the other day my horse Crescent decided to roll really bad straight in a bunch of mudd and none of my normal de mudding tools worked. finnaly I got through most of it but I got out my shedding tool because (yay!!) he was shedding and before I knew it he was cleaner than he has been all year. turns out if you use a shedding blade it gets that mud off without making you feel like you need rotator cuff surgery!

I have been doing the same thing with my horse... it does work great ;)

Sorry, should have told you this earlier and saved your rotator cuff, anything with a blade gets mud and dandruff off pretty easily.

I always use my curry comb when they have dried up mud on them and it works great! I don't have a shedding blade but it practically the same as a curry comb. :)

I found that if it's still moist it rips the hair instead of takes off the mud :/

These are the BEST things ever for removing dried mud without damaging the horse's coat or killing your arm. You just brush through their coat with the finer side and the little teeth will gently break through and remove the crud.

You call a shedding blade what i call a metal curry comb? Or the one that looks like a squeegee? Lol.

I use the metal curry for mud.. the back side has longer serraded pokey-ma-giggers and it gets the tough crappage.

Metal shedding blade got this nasty mudball clean after about an hour of work.

Well at least someone enjoyed the torrential rains lol. the horse I ride does that purposefully when I want to ride....But thats okay, because he stays clean on show days.
