Critique my jumping please :)
Hi forum fellas :)
OK, I know I have a bunch of mistakes, but here is a video of my first jumping competition. Let me tell you I hate Youtube for what it has done to my video, made it soooo sloow motion, however, might be easier to see. And ye, sorry for the quality too as its filmed through a dirty window and the light aint the best either.
Anyway, that is 1 year ago, after I had had 1 jumping lesson in group and 2 mini lessons alone. Never jumped with this horse before, this was a suprise, and normally I train in dressage with him.
I know I have a problem with sitting straight, but I have scoliosis with straightened waist line, which causes me problems to sit as straight as others, as I balance myself differently.
Ok, I stop making excuses now, would love to hear opinions and structured critique.. tbh, everything goes

Very nice :)
What I would have you working on is really bringing your shoulders back. You sort of anticipate the jump, and round your back in a ball. You need to open your chest, and wait for your horse to jump. I also have this problem, so I understand it's not an easy habit to break. It can be done though! :)
Also, as everyone should, keep on working out that lower leg. Get in the gym, ride as often as possible, just muscle on up, and you will stop that lower leg from slipping back so much. Doing great though! :)

Well, I am not feeling safe when jumping, so I kinda do it a bit wrong, but hey, haven't fallen whilst jumping yet. that good for me :P
so that is kinda why I jump early and my back goes all weird..
the leg - I am **** with balance in jumping saddles, plus hadn't ridden in that saddle before this video either - I basically got put on that horse and told to go and jump.. tried to stay calm and work with him (thank god we worked so much dressage :P )

Now I dont even want to see how I ride (taking a very long break) but when summer starts I want to go back to more dressage and if I have a good horse, jump a bit with it too.. never too high though..
But I really wanna know what others think of this kind of "holiday" jumper on first more serious attempt :D (plus my trainer doesn't really speak english, so it was hard to get good comments, as he just couldnt say them :D)

I don't jump but that looks very nice and polished. You are an excellent rider and your horse seems very talented and is beautiful. Well done

Thank you! I wouldn't think I am that great, as I have plenty to learn to compete in any discipline, but I appreciate your words :)
Sadly, the horse was not mine and is far far away and not doing anything with his talents.. :(

My gelding would just step over those jumps, jeeze he is lazy. His old owner said if he dosent have to jump, he isnt going to. I have the laziest horse! Other than that, you looked great! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L-L Horse!

Nice job, but keep your hands up- don't drop the inside one. Also, don't let him drift coming out of the jumps. Lastly, don't get ahead of him before the jump- wait for him, then go into jumping position as he goes over.
