Clipping white legs
Alright so, last year i clipped my horses legs for his second last show. It was all good until he started to get these red scabs/red marks/bumps on his legs. There gone now and its winter but i was wondering if anyone has an explanation for this? Was it sunburn or just irritation fro being clipped for the first time?
Sorry, don't have any pictures of when his legs had the scabs and such.
Sometimes it can happen from the first trimming, but I am no expert and would get more experienced advice.
How close did you clip him? If your horse goes out to pasture, don't clip as closely because their fur protects them from the elements, terrain, bugs, and grasses. Unless your going to a super big show, just clip the hair off the fetlocks and a little off the top.
They also make fly-sheet leg wraps you can put on.
