Hello! My horse always gets his shots in June, so I have never done anything different, but some people at the barn are getting there horses done in about a week or two and said we could share the trip fee. Can he get his shots this early? I'll probably call the vet anyway to make sure it wont be a problem, but I just wanted to ask here first! Thanks! :-)
I've never really known a lot of people who get shots in the summer. I normally schedule them for fall and spring as do most people around here at least. I don't see why It would hurt to get them now versus later.
It depends what your vaccinating for. If the vector for the disease isn't a problem until May-June and it's a short lived vaccination like flu (which really shouldn't be needed until fall) or rhino than you're wasting your $$. The efficacy of the vaccination will basically be over and you won't have the protection when you need it.
