Difference between 1.5 Inch and 2.5 inch Rings?
Sorry for the second post today, but I was getting ready to order my new bit, when I saw that there is a choice between a 1.5 & 2.5 inch rings on a full cheek mouthpiece. What difference do the sizes make? The mouth piece size I am getting is 4.5inch if that makes any difference.
Bump... Need to order this tonight, if anybody can help.
Here is the link to the bit if it helps any..

I've not seen this before on a long cheek snaffle but I'd want smaller rings on a pony sized bit (probably 13.2hh and under/5" or smaller).
I can't see any mechanical advantage using smaller or larger sized rings on this bit so it's likely just cosmetic.
Not sure if that helps or not :?
I hadn't seen it either. This was the first I've heard of it, but went with the 2.5 ring because that seems to be the standard as far as I've seen. If I hear any difference in the size later on I might try the smaller.
Thanks for the comment!
I'm thinking if your reins are wide you'd want the larger ring. Half inch reins would be ok with either.
