My First Horse
Hi everyone. I was recently gifted with my new treasure Athena. I love this girl with passion! The place where she was before was miserable and in fact before a couple of my friends went to get her for me she was tied up to a tree for two days without water. I will soon attach the pictures of when she was brought to me. Anyways, she is in the Dominican Republic and I am in NY but I went to see her last month and my good friend has taken quite good care of her.
I think that she is not purebred but the vet says that she appears to have some sort of purebred blood. I really don't know how to describe genetics and all of that but my question is what type of breed does she resemble and what do you think of her?
She is about 2 years old.
I can't see the photo, could you please try again?
Here is another one.
You guys aren't riding her yet are you? If she isn't yet 2, I would wait another year and a half or so. She's still very young as you can tell and still developing. She's gorgeous though! Just let her be to grow more and build more fat/muscle.
Thats exactly what I said! But I live in a rural area of the Dominican Rep. and therefore people so not really treat horses the way we do in the U.S. They had started to ride her before I got her and I had insisted that she was not mature yet. Can you imagine that before I went to see her, someone had take her to plow the soil!?
she is pretty I hope you can get her soon and let her finish growing
and be a Kid.
She is a cutie! I hope you get her soon as well so you can let her grow and start training. I'm excited to hear more about your journey with her! Keep us updated
Thanks for your replies. When my friends got her for me they were constantly riding her but I am pleased to say that she is finally bwing allowed to grow at her own pace. The friend that is now caring for her is actually th guy who milks the cows. So is she actually spending all of her time in the mountains with the horses of the man that owns the cows. She has plently to graze on and she the enormous area is enclosed. This is how she was three months before the previous pictures.
well i'm glad they have stopped riding her and that she is in an area where she can socialize with other horses and grow. When does she come to live with you?
She is beautiful! Good luck with her!
