Hello from Georgia
After 18 years of marriage, I finally was able to convince my husband to let me get a horse last summer. We were given a 10 year old quarter horse/paint mix by our 70 year old neighbor. Once my husband started being around her, he finally realized how intelligent they are and since our herd has grown to three, the mare and two gelding, both geldings we rescued from abusive/neglectful homes. Although two out of the three still need some training to be safely ridden anywhere, we are both enjoying them. I had owned a horse from the time I was 8 till I got married at 19 and would work at an Arabian horse farm down the road from where I lived in Pennsylvania with training and riding her Arabians. Now, I am married and have introduced my husband to the land of horses and horse ownership. We can not wait for warmer days to be able to better enjoy them. Several people we know have commented on our small herd of horses saying how beautiful they look when they run together. Their names are Nilla, a 10 year old Cremello mare, Chestnut a 20 year old Bay gelding, and Blue, a 3 1/2 year old grey gelding.
