Halter 4 Quarter

I am very new at showing!! I was told there is a fashion for halter. Is there a way to find out wither to use a dark or light oil colored leather halter. They are not quite in my budget, so when I buy one I dont want to make a decision that will cost me in the show. My horse is an sorrel/overo with little over lol Any help or input would be great !!! ¢¾

Dark oil.

Always dark oil for halter. The Congress cut is also really popular these days, you will have to see what is the right type for your horse's face. For someone who is very new, a plain, well-fitting, dark oil leather halter and lead shank will be fine until you gain some more experience with halter or showmanship.

Ditto to the dark oil.
