New horse with swelling in right hind leg.
I recently rescued a sweet mare who has what I first thought to be some kind of physical injury to her right hind leg (hopefully the link to the photos works!). My farrier came out today to give her a trim, and she thought it might be a fungus...it IS kind of crusty with a round area just above her hoof. The swelling feels warm to the touch, but she doesn't have any visible limp. Her joint doesake a "click" when she walks. My vet can't see her until next week, so I was hoping someone might recognize what this is ...I'd like to do something to help her in the meantime.

The picture didn't work for me, but the location and crusties make me wonder if it would be something like "scratches"? Left untreated it can cause swelling etc.
Is this what it looks like?
