What do you think of these boots?

I am looking for a new pair of boots to do rodeo in because my friends dog ate my other ones:shock: . At my local tack shop I came across the Drango boots that look like this.

I was just wondering how good these boots would be for riding horses because the bottom is rubber and i've never riding in a boot with a rubber bottom.

Very American
are they comfortable

Depends how they fit in your stirrups. If they're too wide in the sole you can get hung up. I personally like a leather sole and a lil more heel. But personal preferences are just that. If they are comfortable and won't get hung up, I don't see why not. Quality aside.

I own two pairs of boots with rubber soles and I don't have any issues with them getting stuck in my stirrups or anything, but they are both pretty narrow and the soles are thinner..

But all that aside, those are cute :)

I am going back tomorrow and i'm going to see what the return policy is for them. Im in Kentucky on spring break and don't have my horse nor saddle with me to test them out.

On a side note, I forget that a lot of folks on here aren't grown men. Wearing a size 12 boot lol.

Haha, well I am a teenage girl with size 11 feet......

Well I suppose then width may still be a concern. I'd rather lose a stirrup then get hung up any day.

Well, it might just be my imagination and have absolutely no "truth" to it, but I will not intentionally ride under saddle w a rubber sole b/c I just "feel" they can grip. I have ridden in them w/o any problems when that is what I had on and I didn't feel like/couldn't change them - but they seemed more "clunky". I ordinarily ride w an oxbow and prefer slick bottom leather soles. On the other hand, I usually wear horseshoes on the ground b/c a rubber sole is more "poo/urea" resistant. If rubber is "no different", then I suppose I have more boots than I need. ;)
