hey,
I want to put together a wound first aid kit. The reason being that we spent a lot of time in the bush with our horses... and also we have a string of 25 working horses, so having the vet out for every issue is simply not an option sometimes unfortunately.
I've been reading the wound threads on here and have picked up some great info... however, are there any particularly good websites that you'd recommend for dealing with different types of open wounds?
Also for learning about ointments such as Furazone, stuff for helping prevent proud flesh, the use of wraps/live sponges, or any other "medicines" that people swear by, and when they are appropriate? I feel like there must be a good website or something out there.
We tend to clean with water and then leave them to heal... that said, we rarely (thank god) have encountered bad wounds, surprisingly.
If anyone has any helpful tips, suggestions, stories, or recommendations for ointments or whatever please share
