The bacon thread!!

Hello everyone and welcom to a hopefully fruitful discussion about everyone's favorite recipes that include bacon.

I'll start out with my favorite: Sautéed brussel sprouts with Bacon

1. chop a decent amount of bacon up (the more the better!) and put in a sautee pan and cook about half way

2. chop 1/2 cup of a WHITE/YELLOW onion and mix with the b.sprouts (halved) and throw both in with the bacon, COVER with a lid

3. after the sprouts have cooked for about 8-10 minutes add a splash of white wine and sprinkle the pan with brown sugar and re-cover for a little longer

4. when the sprouts have gotten soft they should be done

I HATED BRUSSEL SPROUTS BEFORE THIS lol

I was starving when I went into town today - stopped and had a BLT that was delicious :)

I've got so many!
Grilled bacon wrapped jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese.
Grilled Pork tenderloin wrapped with bacon.
Baked chicken breasts coated with cream cheese wrapped with bacon.
Green beans with bacon.
Toasted bacon sandwiches.
The obvious, bacon burger.
Bacon crumbled on deviled eggs.
Grilled bacon wrapped hot dogs or brats.
Pinto beans with cubed bacon.
Shall I continue? Lol! We eat a lil bacon. I think we are about 5lbs into this month.

Townhouse cracker, put parm cheese on it and wrap with 1/2 slice of bacon. Bake at 250 for about an hour. Pioneer Woman recipe, I make them at holidays and am treated like a queen. You have to bake them on a rack though.
I also wrap big shrimp in bacon and grill them !

We eat a lot of bacon too!
This is how we do our Jalepeno Poppers...

Halve jalepenos, but not completely, just up to the stems, so they stay together and clean them. I leave some seeds for heat.
Fry up some ground sausage, drain, mix with cream cheese. Spoon sausage and cream cheese mixture into Jalepenos.
Wrap Jalepenos with raw bacon and hold together with toothpicks that have soaked in a bowl of water for about an hour.
Place in campfire/grilling baskets to cook over a fire or grill until bacon is crispy and Jalepenos are toasty with warm gooey cream cheese!

And one of my family favorites...kartoffel mit speck, German Potato Salad..mmmmm

I'll have to dig out my recipe for bacon brittle. You crumble it on top of twice baked sweet potatoes. 'tis YUM!

why do you soak the tooth picks?

Another recipe I like are stuffed mushrooms with bacon!

I believe you soak the toothpicks so that they don't burn in the fire. :-)

BACON :thumbsup::happydance:

I love Waterchesnuts wrapped in bacon

Use whole large waterchesnuts, wrap each with 1/2 slice thick cut bacon, secure bacon with a toothpick

Put them on a cookie sheet, bake at 375 till the desired crispness of bacon is achieved, about 25-30 minutes

mmmm-mmmm-good
