Need help from someone who knows about contaminated land
Our house and land flooded from Hurricane Ike and our area has been discovered to be contaminated with different toxins (see link). http://www.kbmt12.com/news/goodmorningsout...s/30744079.html
Does anyone know what can be done to wash this stuff out so I can bring my horses back? And who can we bring a soil sample too so we know what is in our property?
Thanks for any info, hope I made sense

you made perfect sense. I would contact the EPA and inform them of your situation and ask your questions. They might not have the answer, but I am positive they could direct you to someone who would :-)

I would suggest getting in contact with your local county extension office. They should be able to lead you in the right direction too. I know the "farm bureau" around here used to do soil samples & such.

Dumas is right, get in touch with your extension service Department of Natural Resources or the local USDA office. They should be able to get the soil tests and help with getting the land back up to snuff. There may even be federal money available for soil amendments that you will need.
