For Sale in IL, Arabian & AQH
Located in IL. Need to downsize the herd :-| I've had both these horses for 6yrs+ I just don't really ride them anymore & want to see them go to homes where they'll have someone to who put them to work (and love the poop out of them).

"Lily" is a 13yo Polish Arabian mare. Does a little bit of everything, was professionally trained for Dressage a few years ago (about '08). Is still schooled in it to keep her fresh. LOVES kids. I would love to see this mare go to a home where she'll have a little kid to ride her & love on her. My now 13yo sister learned to ride on this mare. Always took wonderful care of her. Ads tells more :D

Kid Friendly, Polish Arabian Mare, Aladdinn* Grand-daughter | Buy this Horse at

Asking $4,500
Price is negotiable to a home that suits her

"Sonny" is a 10yo AQH gelding. Currently in schooling for Dressage with plans for HoF/HUS. Which I think he'd really excell in. Has been started over jumps but I really don't have the place or equipment to take him far or build courses. Can be a very soft, supple horse with someone who understands him. Hence requiring an intermediate rider. He can get nervous about riding - in an 'am I doing this right?!' kind of way. Ad has additional info.

HUS or HoF Prospect | Buy this Horse at

Asking $5,000
Price is negotiable as well

The price tags are not FIRM. Like I said I've owned these horses for a very long time & just want to see them go to homes with people who really get along with them. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. If you hit me up through the sale site I'm likely to get back to you faster since it sends it to my email (and thus phone).

Why are you selling the Quarter horse w/o papers?
That seems crooked. :(

SketchyHorse 04-08-2013 12:42 AM

How does it seem crooked? The horse has papers, you can look him up on the AQHA website. I'm giving the option w/o papers because he's a gelding. Ya can't breed him & unless you're showing in AQHA breed shows for points - what's the point? Most of the people I've had ask about him are looking for a trail horse (papers not necessary) or small local shows (papers also not necessary). And I also give the option to purchase WITH PAPERS if you check the website.

The arab might catch some interest advertised on some endurance pages on facebook, dont think you'll get near your askng price but might gain some interest.

Love the Arab. I have many similar, including both the Polish and the one Russian line, and they are wonderful. Great conformation, disposition, and ability.

Just as an FYI, selling an AQHA horse without his papers is a real quick way to get you banned from the registry. AQHA HIGHLY frowns upon that, should the wrong person decide to pull you in for it.
And rightfully, I say. I'd never sell a horse without it's heritage. You can't convince me you think those papers are worth $3000 to you without the horse. Honestly, that's just a truly selfish move and I one I have zero respect for.

either the horse has papers or it does not. The papers are worthless to you without the horse, why would you drop the price $1000? Unless there is something you are going to do with the papers to recoup that $1000? Sounds mighty FISHY.

Corporal 04-08-2013 01:51 PM

You make the gelding worthless without the papers. The market is in the toilet now, and many nice horses have no homes, PERIOD.
The mare is lovely--reminds me of "Corporal" (Arabian, 1982-2009, RIP. I owned him for most of his life.). Too $high. You're about 3 hours from me (22 miles SSE of Urbana, Champaign County.)
If you come down in price and I get some money, and she hasn't sold I am very interested. I keep my 3 on 5 acres--back yard. My Avatar shows my pole fencing. She would have a good home.

SketchyHorse 04-08-2013 02:35 PM

Ya know what? Nevermind. I don't owe anyone an explanation as to why the gelding is being offered without his papers. And it sure as hell isn't so I can do something "fishy" or "crooked" with them. It's between me & his buyer to work out a deal with his papers. Everyone already seems to think my horses are worthless & overpriced anyway.
