What exactly is an Irish Sport Horse?
Basically I've heard many different breeding combinations that result in an "irish sport horse". At first I though it was just a tb x irish draught, but then I heard it could be irish draught x Connemara, then arabian, then Tennessee walking horse...I'm a little confused. So what exactly qualifies as an Irish sport horse?

From the Irish Draught Registry's website regarding Irish Draught Sport Horses (their "officially" name).

We have an Irish Draught mare at our barn and she shall be producing her mother a sport I would be. She's a fabulous animal, but the draught isn't as refined as the show world likes.

I own an Irish sport horse, he's nothing like your horse Tiny!

ISH are to be a cross between ID and TB... but my gelding although registered as an ISH has no TB on his passport... I actually can't find any information at all about his sire or dam.

Technically, they're supposed to only have Irish Draught and Thoroughbred bloodlines, but a lot of other ID crosses are considered Irish Sport Horses.

Love my Irish Draught! They make for some great crosses.
