Okay, I know VERY little about jumping, but this horse just looks very messed up to me.
Am I correct in my assumption or is it supposed to look like that and was just caught at a weird time in the jump?
His head does look a little low...
My guess is he came in too "deep" to the fence (came too close to the base of the jump) and then kind of popped over... hence the hanging legs and him just starting to tuck up behind. The neck is trying to counterbalance the awkward jump.
It is not a pretty jump by any stretch of the imagination.
Yeah, kinda looks like he hopped it! LOL! That's not a pretty picture. :)
I think she held him back and then tried to jump it for him so he popped it and she got left behind...
lol, how in the world did that horse even make it over leaving so close to the fence?! :D (a horse should take off about 6 feet in front of the fence!) Looks like he had to leap strait up in the air instead of arcing over it. What a nice horse. If he didn't hit the pole with his hind legs my guess is that he's actually a fairly athletic guy.
Looks like he came in very deep to the fence!
agreed, he came in too deep. Poor guy gets a catch in the mouth. What a trooper :)
thats my opinion too. happened to me a few times with a TB. i wasn't in his mouth tho. pretty nice postion by the rider for being left behind
