Help! - Mohawk for dressage?
I'm an eventer and I ride a horse with a 'Mohawk' sort.
Would it be acceptable for dressage showing in 3DE or ODEs?
Also, would it be acceptable for dressage showing?
Here is a picture of what it looks like.

I'm just wondering if its acceptable! (The horse is trained 2nd level.)

I don't think so, but I'm going to let someone who knows what they're talking about answer. I'd like to see what they say.

I believe it is fine. I have competed with a girl whose horses mane was like that. I'm sure as long as it looks kept nice, it would be fine.

My unoffical thought is that they couldn't force you to plait a Fjord's mane ;) See the correlation?

Are you trying to grow it out? If not, I would shape it to taper into the neck at the top and bottom and shorten it just a bit.

I knew of an Elite Hannoverian stallion that showed Grand prix with a roached mane. There is no problem with it, other than folks who are less worldly may not understand.

Well she's not a Fjord, her mane would just look like that!

I don't do dressage, but I believe it's mainly scored on each element of the horses movement. So a good horse would still do well.

It depends on the sanctioning of the shows you are in. Most dressage shows and rules specify that you must braid the mane. If the mane is completely roached with not enough hair to braid, then it is ok, but a mane of the length that you posted should be braided.
Doing something like this is a good compromise as well:

I wish we had the tagging or paging someone function here like on FB. I was going to page you Anebel.
