Raw spot (on me, not my horse!)
I noticed the last time I was riding, that a spot on my knee felt sore while it was in contact with the saddle. It looked normal later that day, but still felt sore when something touched it. The next day, a raw spot had developed on my knee, and it stung when something touched it. It still does, almost a week later.
It's nothing serious or anything, it's just a bit uncomfortable, especially while riding, and it makes me lose my concentration. I wear jodhpurs, so it's not skin against leather that's the problem.
Has this ever happened to any of you? How could I feel more comfortable when I ride again in a few days? How could I prevent it so it doesn't happen again?
Something bit bit like that has happened to me before. One time, I was riding Wolli (Cutie Pie!) and I didn't do my stirrup up so in wasn't tucked in under the saddle. I started to trot and when I went down my thigh pressed against the buckle part . Man it hurt! I know it doesn't seem like it didn't hurt that much but I got mini bruises and that was just from a few strides!
Now how to fix it huh?
Well, first of all you don't have to ride for a while, but if you still want to ride try putting a band-aid on it or something soft so nothing will hurt it.
That's all I got.http://www.horseforum.com/userpix/97...e_photos_2.jpg
Sounds like bad rubbing. Maybe try a thin brace around your knee to help prevent rubbing.
Of course I still want to ride! No raw spot could keep me from doing that. Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll try wrapping something around my knees from now on when I ride.
