Horse Inns?

Does anyone know any places to stay with a horse overnight while traveling? I'll be making a long trip this summer and was thinking that I'd like to stop somewhere around Texarkana overnight. The only trouble is that I'll have the horse, the trailer and the two dogs! I'm thinking the Holiday Inn isn't exactly going to work for me, lol!

Horse Motels..

^^^I used this web site when I moved from SoCal to Tennessee in 2003.

I can say that every stop was unique and fun, and they ALL treated my three back yard trail horses like expensive international stars.

Two of the stops were B&B's. The one in Oklahoma had turned two big horse stalls into motel rooms with full baths, just no bath tubs. It was the best place ever.

Every place we stayed let us leave both the big Ryder trucks, my truck and trailer, and we un-hooked the race car trailer from the dually and used it to drive to the motels where the layovers didn't have on-site sleeping for us.

I'm sure there are some not-so-nice places out there but I gotta say, every place was I layed my horses over (4 nights) were the most wonderful/caring folks and treated my horses like their own.

I was only asked for the horses' shipping papers once but that was 10 years ago. Be sure you have everything in order, the vet recommends, before pulling out your driveway. <---which, in today's world I am really out of the loop on that one.

Almost forgot, also moving cross-country with us, were my Spoiled Rottenweiler, Lab/Sharpei, Beagle/mix and one cat. The cat stayed in the bed of my truck in the Rottweiler crate (there was a cap on the truck), the Rott and Beagle rode with Mr. WTW and the Lab/Sharpei rode with me. The B&B's knew ahead we had the dogs, well the motels didn't know so we asked for rooms in the back of the motels - lol My dogs were all house dogs and very well schooled/mannered. The only thing missing from their traveling needs were Oaklies - lollol

Hope this helps, and stay safe:D

In Arizona, we have the Blake Ranch RV & Horse motel Park. Overnight accomadations for horses, dogs are ok,Laundry, showers, etc. I can't do a link, but it should come up if you type in the name. Propane available also.
