Any Texans show AQHA?

I'm in the DFW area, wishing to watch some AQHA show action. Most interested in WP, Trail & Western Riding. I'll be searching AQHA's website for regional events/clubs, but was just curious if anyone on this forum participates.

Recently bought my first QH and I'm interested in seeing the current trends, even though I don't intend to show.

I am in DFW and I show paints, but many associations do both. Right now my most popular show is with the Hunt County Horseman's Association. They do a couple APHA shows and do AQHA/open shows once a month. They are a good local club that is very accepting of beginners. I go to the open portion of their AQHA shows. If you have any specific questions, I can help you out. :)

You might also want to check out the Texas Quarter Horse Association. http://www.tqha.com/

I also suggest Hunt County Horseman's Association. They have a show every month, March-October. My daughter and our riding team all show there.

Thanks for the input!

I just want to get current, since I've been out of the horse world for 10+ years. I bought this 2 yr old for casual pleasure riding and he'd never make it with today's beautiful, big, flat kneed movers. I still intend to train him with the handle of a show horse, however, since that's what my past horse experience entailed and it's something I enjoy.
