Hey ya'll I just had a question regarding bell boots. I know these boots are meant to prevent the horse from losing a shoe on the front hooves, but does a horse without shoes still need them?
It depends. My horses are not shod, but I have to keep bell boots on one of them 24/7. The reason is she manages to injure herself just above the hoof when I don't keep boots on. After having bad cuts couple times I just have those rubber ones on her all the time. Definitely helped.
