The war on boots
Okay I have had too many issues with getting my boots fully zipped up.

They fit nicely, and when I don't have my leggings or breeches on. But when I have them on they CONSTANTLY get caught in the zipper and makes things 10x worse.

Any suggestions I can do to stop this? I've done a lot of different things and it hasn't helped.

Buy some that are custom fit.

I've always zipped my boots about halfway because my ankle flexion while riding makes the tightness around the top of the paddock boot uncomfortable. Nothing seems to get caught and I just throw my half chaps over and go! I don't see anything wrong with having them half zipped. As far as the jods catching, is to possibly get a pair with thicker material? But if nothing else just leave it half zipped and when you have wore them out go to a tack shop to try out different boots.

It sounds like you might need a boot with a wider calf?

My tall boots fit just like customs, but when I zip them up I always have to stick my finger in the zipper area and poke my breeches back just to prevent it from getting caught - but it's never a big hassle. If you can't do that because it's far too tight then it's definitely a size thing.

Are you using tall boot socks on the outside of your breeches? Mine get stuck like that too when I use shorter socks and/ or leave them underneath. They help smooth down the fabric for me so it doesn't get caught :)

I have this problem in the summer when its really hot and humid. My boots zip up just fine in the spring and fall, but my calf will swell when it's hot and humid out and I can't zip them all the way up.

Um no brilliance on this. Best wishes.

Geesh, I'm relieved. By the title I thought someone was angry with me!
