W/T Equitation
So I'm showing my horse on Sunday. I'm super nervous but also really excited. We did one show together last year. We only did w/t pleasure as we were still working out the kinks of her canter. This show we are doing two hunter hack classes, three w/t, and one pleasure. At my trainer's suggestion/pushing, I decided what the heck, and decided to also do a w/t eq class.

I've never in my life of horses done an eq class before. I understand the semi-basics of it is about how a rider RIDES, aka how pretty do you look while doing it. Heels must be down, elbows bent and soft, back straight, etc.

But other than that, I don't know alot. Can anyone give me any tips that might help or things you've done in an eq class judges seemed to like? Thank you everyone who replies. :)

(So excited!! Soooo nervous!)

Not sure if it is the same where you are, but here all equitation classes have a pattern. Study it and practice it on foot before you ride it. I have a real problem remembering patterns, this helps me a lot!

SMILE! The judges love to see a happy rider. And there are no patterns at Ranch Hotel so no worries there. They may ask us to drop our stirrups and do a sitting trot though.

Yes always be ready for sitting trot, it took me by surprise when they asked for it my first show!
